Danger Ahead

This was clearly not the safest path, but you couldn't care less. Your friends tried to tell you, they warned you to stay away. They told you that the road ahead was going to hurt more than heal, and yet you didn't listen. You couldn't listen. You were under his spell all over again, yet this was different. This time you accepted it, you were ok with it. Still, the others gave you stern warnings and told you it was a bad idea, but you went anyways. You went to the location you were told to meet up at and waited. Waited for what seemed like hours. You were nervous, you don't know why, it's not like you've never seen him before. You close your eyes and take a deep breath hoping it will help calm your nerves. When you open your eyes he's standing right in front of you, his face barely inches away from yours. You turn your head and push him away from you. His smirk fades as he backs away. He sighs as he puts his hand out, waiting for you to accept his invitation. Hesitating you start to think about what your friends said, about all the damage he's caused, about all the people he's hurt, about the danger he proposes. Slowly but surely you grab his hand and a small smile appears on your face because despite all he's done, you can't help but toss the 'danger ahead' sign aside.
